About Sebastian Canoe Launch

Sebastian Canoe Launch is a 1.03-acre Indian River County park on the South Prong of the St. Sebastian River in Sebastian. It is a small launch site for paddlers, built around a canoe and kayak launch dock on a largely protected stretch of river.

The paddle starts here and heads north. A trip to Donald MacDonald Park, Dale Wimbrow Park, or the Indian River Lagoon takes about three to four hours. The river is known for manatees, alligators, native birds, and fish, so wildlife viewing is part of most trips.

The park has one pavilion with two of the three picnic tables underneath it, and the third table is in the open. Parking is limited to 8 spaces, so the lot can fill on busy days. The county park is open daily from 7 a.m. until sunset.

The Ansin Riverfront Conservation Area lies to the south of the launch. A short trail in the area gives you a chance to walk and look for wildlife without getting on the water.

The launch is one of several places to get outdoors along the river. For more ideas in the area, see the things to do in Sebastian, or browse other parks and attractions across Indian River County.
