Royal Caribbean confirms that there was a fire aboard their “Freedom of the Seas” cruise ship Wednesday morning in Jamaica.
The cruise line says that the smoky fire broke out in a mechanical space as the ship was docking in Falmouth, Jamaica.
It says the ships first fire-suppression system quickly extinguished the fire and all systems are operational.
Passengers were ordered to their muster stations until the situation was brought under control.
“Freedom of the Seas” is on a seven-day cruise that set sail from Cape Canaveral over the weekend.
