Named for the famous actor who lived nearby, Burt Reynolds Park is a great destination for some outdoor family fun or time in nature. It’s a great little park with about 2000 feet of Intracoastal Waterway frontage and spanning 35.55 acres.
With six boat launches and trailer parking for a fee, it’s easy for non-motorized boats like kayaks and canoes to enjoy the water. The West side has the capacity for larger boats. The boat launch happens to be the best feature. The park can get quite crowded since it’s on the smaller side but there are dedicated lanes and parking for the launch.
There are picnic tables with grills and a single pavilion for rent for your outdoor cooking needs. Families can have fun and enjoy the playground equipment for children ages 5 to 12. There are formal restrooms in the park.
There are volleyball facilities for sports enthusiasts with a sand court and horseshoe pits.
The River Center is housed here in the park. This nature center is not only eye-catching but also houses aquarium exhibits. Interactive exhibits also educate on water handling, including an exhibit where kids can try to balance water running in and out.
