PSLPD: Reminder to Lock Your Vehicle Doors

Port St Lucie Police Officers apprehended two juvenile males were burglarizing at least 4 vehicles around the 300 Blk of NE Floresta Drive.
On May 17, 2021 at approximately 3:30am Officers responded to the area about a burglary in progress. A caller stated he observed two subjects hiding between vehicles at a nearby house. They then witnessed an interior car light illuminate, and the two subjects began walking down the road. The caller chased two males south of this area.
A Port St Lucie Police Officer observed a male walking south on Floresta Drive. The juvenile was wearing a clear plastic glove and had on a backpack. He later admitted to breaking into vehicles and stealing various items. Items found in his backpack included a laptop, cell phone chargers, sunglasses, and credit cards.
The second subject was still on the run and later apprehended at his residence. Inside his room Officers located another stolen laptop. Officers were able to determine that vehicles were illegally entered on NW Byron St, NE Floresta Dr, NE Camelot Dr, and NE Airoso Blvd
Port St Lucie Police Detectives are determining if there are other victims in this area. The vehicles that were burglarized were not forcibly entered, meaning they were most likely left unlocked. Please remember to lock your vehicles at night.
