PSLPD: Neighbor dispute leads to the arrest of a man for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon

Port St Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)  -On April 28, 2021 Port St Lucie Police Officers responded to the 400 Blk of SE Bancroft Court about a neighbor disturbance.  Officers on scene learned that neighbors were standing outside a residence talking when the suspect, Marcos Delgado, emerged from his residence across the street, and began yelling at them.  Delgado and the victim began yelling at each other in the road.

Eventually, Delgado goes back inside his residence, and approximately two minutes later, the victim hears the sound of a shotgun racking.  The victim looks across the street and sees Delgado, just outside his screen door, pointing a black shotgun towards his direction.  The victim ran inside his residence in fear for his safety.

A witness reported to police that she heard Delgado say during the argument, “you don’t know what I am capable of”.  The witness observed Delgado standing outside his residence while pointing a shotgun in their direction.  She also ran inside the residence out of fear for her safety.

Police Officers arrived and surrounded Delgado’s residence and began calling Delgado’s phone for him to come outside.  After receiving no answer, Officers began using a PA system.  Officers observed lights going on and off inside the residence during this time frame.  Officers found a phone number for Delgado’s wife.  She and Delgado agreed to come outside the residence.

Delgado stated the argument was verbal in nature.  Delgado confirmed he did have a shotgun and allowed Officers inside to retrieve the gun.  A black Mossberg 500 Shotgun was found in the laundry room of Delgado’s residence.

Delgado’s residence does have a front door camera, which could have recorded the incident.  Delgado and his wife would not allow Officers to view the footage without a lawyer present.

Delgado was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and transported to jail.  The black Mossberg 500 shotgun was taken as evidence.
