PSLPD: DUI and drug charges in Port St. Lucie over holiday weekend
Port St.Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -The Port St. Lucie Police were very busy and quite effective over the holiday weekend keeping us safe.
This is what they wrote:
“While you were enjoying the holiday weekend…some others had different plans. 4 face DUI and drug charges.
On New Year’s Eve, a traffic stop was conducted on a 23 year old driver for making an illegal U-Turn at US1/Port St Lucie Blvd. Officers could smell the heavy odor of alcohol coming from the driver. The driver informed Officers he consumed two shots of Jameson. A DUI investigation was completed and an alcohol breath test revealed the driver was more than twice the legal limit. The driver was taken to jail and charged with driving under the influence.
During a second incident on New Year’s Eve, PSLPD responded to Tradition Pkwy/Village Pkwy regarding a driver slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. The driver, who had a suspended driver’s license, was checked out by paramedics on scene and observed to have slurred speech, stumbling backwards, and had vomit on his shirt. A DUI Investigation was completed and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The driver was also charged with possession of cocaine after Officers found a glass jar with cocaine in his pant pocket.

Lastly, on New Year’s Eve, Officers responded to Racetrack for a disturbance in progress. Officers made contact with a 52 year old driver who had pulled into the gas station and was sitting inside his vehicle with a half empty cold Truly in the cup holder and several containers of alcohol in the passenger seat. The driver had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. A DUI investigation was completed and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
