PSLPD Detectives Arrest 50-Year-Old Man on 74 Child Pornography Charges and $555,000 Bond
Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Port St. Lucie Police Detectives arrested a 50-year-old man on 74 child pornography charges and $555,000 bond.
This is what happened:
The Port St. Lucie Police Department initiated an investigation after PSLPD Detectives assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding an individual uploading child pornography to an online server. Detectives conducted an investigation and identified the suspect as 50-year-old Robert Downs.
Yesterday morning, PSLPD ICAC Detectives and the SWAT Team executed a search warrant in the 2200-BLK of SE Glover St and Downs was taken into custody. The investigation revealed Downs uploaded numerous child pornography pictures/videos to Snapchat and then transmitted this material.
Detectives arrested Downs on 45 counts of transmission of child pornography and 29 counts of possession of child pornography. He is currently in jail with a $555,000 bond. The investigation continues at this time as Detectives forensically analyze seized electronic items.
