PSLPD: 81 Year Old Resident Saved by Hero Dog Receives New Wheelchair
Port St.Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The Port St. Lucie Police is reporting that the 81 Year Old resident saved by Hero Dog received a new wheelchair.
From the Port St.Lucie Police:
Meet “Sarah Jane”, the 9 year old hero beagle/hound mix, who recently help save Mr. Smith’s life after she began barking when Mr. Smith and his wheelchair fell into a pond during a walk. If you recall from the recent story we shared, “Sarah Jane” alerted 2 bystanders by barking who flagged down Officer Doty. The two bystanders and Officer Doty were able to pull Mr. Smith from the pond, saving his life.

Since the incident, PSLPD has receiving an outpouring amount of support from our community to replace Mr. Smith’s damaged wheelchair that fell into the pond. Earlier today, Mr. Smith was all smiles as he received a new electric wheelchair that was generously donated by Medical Homecare Supplies
Mr. Smith was not the only one smiling today. Thanks to Dogs With Style Mobile Grooming, hero “Sarah Jane” received some well deserved complimentary doggy spa time!
