PSL Police seek help identifying auto burglary suspect

SUBJECT:  Port St. Lucie Police asking for public’s help in identifying auto burglary suspect.

Port St. Lucie Police went to the parking lot of Rustico, On February 23, 2016, located at 1724 SW St. Lucie West Boulevard, to investigate a car burglary.  During the investigation police learned that there was video surveillance that captured the crime in High Definition.

Surveillance video shows a black car, possibly a newer Chevrolet Impala, drive east through the parking lot at 9:52 am.  Then at 10:02 am the same car is seen driving west through the parking lot stopping behind the victim’s car.  The front passenger exits the black car and began looking in parked cars.  The suspect is seen looking into the victim’s car just before he returns to the suspect car and retrieves a towel.  The suspect puts the towel over the rear driver side window of the victim’s car and pushes the window in.  The suspect crawls through the pushed in car window and is seen exiting the car with the victim’s purse.  The suspect returns to the get-away car, which then flees the area.

Police describe the suspect as a slender build black male with medium dread locks, in his early to mid 20’s, approximately 5’10” -6” tall, wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.
