PSL Police investigating fatal traffic crash at St. Lucie West and California Blvd
Port St Lucie,Fla (treasurecoast.com)- On December 26, 2017at 6:22 pm, Port St. Lucie Police and St. Lucie County Fire/Rescue went to the intersection of SW St. Lucie West Boulevard and SW California Boulevard to investigate a crash between a car and a SUV.
Vehicle #1: 1998 Toyota Camry
Driver – 49 year old Joseph Cineus (Port St. Lucie)
Front Seat Passenger – 80 year old Gracimise Exavier (deceased) (Port St. Lucie)
Rear Passenger Side – 8 year old girl (Port St. Lucie)
Rear Driver Side – 14 year old girl (Port St. Lucie)
Vehicle #2: 2008 Nissan Rogue
Driver – 52 year old Kimberly Elkert (Port St. Lucie)
Front Passenger – 25 year old male (Port St. Lucie)
Preliminary investigation revealed that the traffic lights for east and west traffic on SW St. Lucie West Boulevard were green. Vehicle #1 was traveling west on SW St. Lucie West Boulevard making a left turn to travel south on SW California Boulevard. At the same time Vehicle #2 was traveling east on SW St. Lucie West Boulevard and as Vehicle #2 entered the intersection its right front bumper collided with Vehicle #1’s right front passenger door.
Front passenger of Vehicle #1 was pronounced dead at the scene. The 8 year old girl from Vehicle #1 was air lifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The 14 year old girl from Vehicle #1 was ground transported to Lawnwood Medical Center. The driver of Vehicle #1 and the two occupants of Vehicle #2 were all transported by ground to nearby hospitals.
Port St. Lucie Police Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing the investigation of this fatal crash.
