Protesters lined I-95 yesterday marking the three month anniversary of the day musician Corey Jones was shot and killed there by a Palm Beach Gardens Police Officer.
Jones’s family was among the protesters. They’re asking why, after three months, they still haven’t been told what caused a police officer to kill him.
By now we all know that 31-year-old Corey was waiting for a tow truck when he was shot and killed by Officer Nouman Raja. The final moments before that shooting, the confrontation between Corey Jones and then-Officer Raja, are still a mystery.
Now, months later new rules mean all Palm Beach Gardens Police Officers will soon wear body cameras, officers must also now be in uniform for traffic stops, and though he hasn’t been charged, Nouman Raja has been fired.
