The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Jonathan Dickinson State Park will conduct prescribed burns on Today and Wednesday, weather permitting.
The burns will consist of up to 1,150 acres of pine flatwoods in the area west of Kitching Creek.
Burned lands experience an increase in native wildflowers, birds and other wildlife.
