Port St Lucie Police investigating shooting incident stemming from a house party
Port St Lucie (treasurecoast.com) -On Sunday, May 30th, 2021, Port St Lucie Police Officers responded to the 900 Blk of SW Longfellow Rd in reference to a disturbance of a large party. Upon arrival Officers observed a large group of people running from the residence
The adult homeowner, informed Officers she was hosting a small graduation party. The party became to big and she attempted to get people to leave her residence. She heard a lot of yelling and then what appeared to be 3 gunshots.
Juvenile witnesses informed Officers that there was a fight between two groups of black males inside the living room and when the fight was over, they heard gunshots from outside the residence.
Officers located one 9mm casing in front of the residence on the road. A projectile went through the front door and into the residence. Officers located one juvenile female and one adult male at a local hospital. The juvenile sustained a graze wound from a bullet on the right side of her neck. The adult male sustained a bullet wound to his elbow. Both were at the party together due to seeing the party being posted on social media. The adult victim drove them both to the hospital. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
It appears at this time that at least one shot was fired indiscriminately into the residence after a fight had taken place inside the residence. It is believed this bullet went through the front door striking the male in his elbow and then grazing the juvenile female. This is an active criminal investigation. Port St Lucie Police will not be releasing anymore information pertaining to this incident at this time.
