On August 20, 2016, Port St. Lucie Police was contacted by a Brevard County Deputy that the deputy found wallets along the road at US 1 near Valkeria in Melbourne, belonging to persons living at Harbor Place Assisted Living facility, located at 3700 SE Jennings Road in Port St. Lucie.  A subsequent investigation revealed that there had been 6 burglaries where wallets, identifications and other property was stolen from victims living at Harbor Place.

Port St. Lucie Police Detective Pete Chunn followed up on the case and discovered that on August 19, 2016, two suspects were seen at CVS located on US 1 in Fort Pierce using a credit card from one of the victims at Harbor Place.  Detective Chunn also located video from a Bealls in Port St. Lucie of the same suspects using another stolen credit card to purchases several items.  As the investigation continued, the detective learned that the suspects had also used information stolen from a 78 year old victim from Satellite Beach and an 85 year old victim from Melbourne.  The suspects used the information to open fraudulent accounts and used the cards in Orlando.
