Vero Beach Police spent 18 days searching for Rachel Crenshaw. She was found just before 4 a.m. Wednesday at a park near State Road 60.
She was last seen on September 26th walking out of a friend’s home on Flamevine Lane after an argument with her boyfriend. She told him she was done with the relationship and left all of her personal belongings behind.
He reported her missing the next day.
Police Chief David Currey says after questioning, Crenshaw told them she made friends with strangers after walking toward the beach. She says she then rode with them out of the county to get away from her boyfriend.
For her protection, investigators aren’t saying where she went.
Curry says she was never injured and she reported no crimes in that regard as of the individuals that assisted her. Currey says she told officers the strangers dropped her back off back in Vero Beach last night.
Investigators say they’re working to identify the people Crenshaw says she met. No charges are expected.
