Okeechobee Man facing first-degree murder charges.
A man is facing first-degree murder charges in the killing of a woman in Okeechobee.
Deputies from the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office went to a home on NW 45th Terrace just after 4 a.m. on Oct. 14th. Authorities found a woman dead from a knife wound and another man with stab wounds to the face. The survivor told detectives his roommate, Mark Deschamps, stabbed the woman and attacked him. Deschamps, according to investigators, accused his two roommates of stealing from him. The suspect showed his two roommates video of the alleged theft, but nothing was on the tape. Investigators say Deschamps is a meth user and has a criminal history of 30 felony arrests with 15 of those ending in convictions.
