Off Duty Port St Lucie Police Officer charged with Battery after Domestic Disturbance

 

Port St. Lucie (treasurecoast.com) – On Saturday February 27, 2021 at approximately 6:00pm Port St Lucie Police Officers responded to the home of PSLPD Officer Nelson Ochoa, about a domestic disturbance.  Port St Lucie Police Officers learned that Ochoa got into a disturbance with his wife while at their residence.

The conversation became heated, and the victim, closed the bathroom door.  Ochoa broke the bathroom door open and continued yelling. He grabbed the victim’s phone, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it.  Ochoa also stomped on her foot.  As the victim was attempting to leave the residence, Ochoa began “chest bumping” the victim into the wall.  The victim left the residence and went to a neighbor’s house to call police.

Ochoa denied any physical contact with the victim.

He was placed on Administrative Leave Without Pay. He was charged with Battery, Criminal Mischief, and Obstructing Justice.

Ochoa was hired at our agency in 2018.  No further information will be released regarding this incident.
