Miami Man arrested in Stuart for stealing used fryer oil
Stuart, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -A Miami Man was arrested in Stuart for stealing used fryer oil.
Police Detectives arrested Westcott Clowdus, from Miami, for burglary and possession of burglary tools during the overnight hours on 02/24/2022.
Clowdus had been stealing used fryer oil from local restaurants in the Stuart and Martin County area for several months. Clowdus used the cover of a legitimate business to steal the fryer oil in the early morning hours from closed restaurants. Clowdus then took the oil to a recycling plant in South Florida and was paid for the oil.
Clowdus was transported to Martin County jail and his truck was impounded. Detectives are alerting with other agencies throughout Florida with similar thefts of the arrest.
