MCSO warns of email scam
Martin County, Fl- The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a scam going around, with someone trying to impersonate the sheriff. A Facebook post warns about emails that have been making the rounds. It claims to be from either Sheriff William Snyder or a member of his staff.
The emails are requesting gift cards or cash and contain fraudulent solicitations. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says in the post that they will never send emails to individuals requesting cash or gift cards.
They also do not solicit websites or post links directing you to other entities. If you receive an email like this, the best thing to do is delete it.
