Quick thinking by the owner of this beautiful dog “Destiny” and quick action by MCSO Sergeant Ricky Parks was key to a happy ending for this beach bound canine. Destiny’s owner accidentally locked her and the keys in the car at the Jensen Beach Causeway this morning. It didn’t take long for the temperature in the vehicle to start rising, so her owner didn’t waste any time and called for help. Sergeant Rick Parks arrived at the scene and was able to get into the car within moments. Destiny was panting, but was given water and is doing great.

Enjoy the weekend, and remember, temperatures in parked vehicles, even with a window cracked open, rise quickly and could be deadly for children and animals.
