Martin County Sheriff William Snyder has announced the launch of his mental health co-responder initiative.
Law enforcement officers responding to calls involving citizens with mental illness and/or substance abuse challengers will have a licensed professional with them to deal with the complex situations.
Money for the initiative was approved in the latest budget signed by the Governor.
