Martin County-Specific Info for Hurricane Season

26

The Atlantic hurricane season began on June 1 and extends until the end of November. The Martin County Fire Rescue Department Emergency Management Agency would like to remind residents that knowing where to get up-to-date information before, during and after the storm is critical. Martin County has designated specific times on local radio when residents can tune in to get information for our area from the Emergency Operations Center.

During a declared emergency, residents can obtain Martin County-specific information by tuning to WQCS-88.9 FM, the Emergency Alert System radio station designated by the State of Florida, at 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Citizens can also listen to WSTU 1450 AM throughout the day or log on to www.martin.fl.us for up-to-date information on the web.

For more hurricane preparation information, call the Martin County Emergency Management Agency at (772) 287-1652 or visit our website at www.martin.fl.us and click on EOC Emergency Information – Emergency Management Agency.
