MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS INVESTIGATE NON-CREDIBLE THREAT AT MARTIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL.

no credible threat

non credible threat

Martin County Sheriff’s School Resource Officers are working to identify the student who wrote on a desk, indicating that an act of violence will take place at the school, tomorrow, Thursday (2-18-16). The writing refers to a “187”, which is California penal code, for homicide.

THIS THREAT HAS BEEN DEEMED NON-CREDIBLE, however, school officials, and Martin County Sheriff’s School Resource Officers, are taking this disruptive act very seriously, and want parents to know, that swift action will be taken to find the student who wrote this.

In an effort to keep parents fully informed, and to address any false information that may arise from this situation, a recorded phone message has been sent to parents whose children attend Martin County High School. In addition, SRO Sergeant Micah Skowronski, has requested additional uniform presence at the school tomorrow.

Again, this threat is considered non-credible, still, anytime an incident involving the threat of violence occurs in our schools, it will be handled swiftly, and taken very seriously.
