Martin County Sheriff William Snyder of is calling on the White House, state and local leaders to put an end to what he calls a false narrative—that law enforcement is out of control.
Snyder says the killing of law enforcement—while alarming—is hardly a new phenomenon. He says what is changing is the reaction to it.
However the President has in fact spoken out against cop killings. Monday of this week in a statement made after the Texas Sheriff’s Deputy was shot and killed, President Obama stated quote, “Targeting police officers is completely unacceptable — an affront to civilized society,” end quote, and vowed to push for police officer safety.
