Man brought in a suspected Mortar round to the PSLPD.

 

The Man called the item a “torpedo” which belonged to his son. His son recently moved from the man’s house and left the Mortar round behind. The man then loaded the item into his truck and brought the suspected mortar round to the PSLPD police station.

The SLCSO bomb squad has been notified and is responding to PSLPD to take control of the suspected Mortar round.

SLCSO E.O.D. arrived at PSLPD and evaluated the device. They determined that the device is safe and non-explosive. The item is described as a WWII 20-30 pound aerial drop bomb. SLCSO took custody of the bomb.

If you find a suspected Mortar round that that your son has left behind you should call your local police.
