A man in Fort Pierce is accused of assaulting a motel clerk with a container of cookies. Police say Steve Enalien walked into the Super 8 Motel on US Highway 1 and tried to take coffee and food from the breakfast area. A woman working the front desk asked the man if he was staying at the motel. The man said no. The clerk told him the food was for guests only. At that moment, according to police, Enalien picked up a plastic container of chocolate chip cookies and hurled it at the clerk. The container hit the woman in the arm. Investigators said the surveillance video shows Enalien throwing something in the direction of the clerk. Police arrested Enalien on a charge of battery. He’s being held at the St. Lucie County Jail.
