Little Violet goes back to the Beach
Martin County (Treasurecoast.com)- Violet Jalil was playing in the water a few feet away from her mother when she was bit by a shark. It happened on August 27 at Bathtub Beach. Jessica Veatch heard her little girl scream and saw blood in the water. She lifted her and saw a chunk missing above Violet’s knee.
Violet was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The doctor who operated told Veatch that it appeared Violet had been bitten by a 5- to 6-foot-long bull shark.
Doctors said she received more than 100 stitches.
It took weeks of recovery. Violet is walking.
Violet went back to the beach today. Jessica arranged to have an “inspirational photo shoot.” Violet, smiling and happy, grabbed her stuffed shark and lead us to the beach. There was no separation anxiety, sadness, fear, anger or irritability.
Just a kid at beach with a bunch of her adoring fans.

Jessica wrote this on her Facebook Page:
This was such a special and overcoming the odds and fear day thank you Suzanne Cosme Meghan McRoberts and Cyndi Lenz for being there with us. It took so much to get here and she was ready way before I was. With the holidays coming I wanted to focus on what I was thankful for. What I focus on is that I am thankful for my family to still be intact. It was so scary on August 27 when she was attacked. I wasn’t sure if we would have this and she has healed beautifully. I couldn’t ask for more. That is what I am thankful for this year.
Here is a quote that Jessica will be using with Violet’s photos
“Little girls dance their way into your heart, Whirling on the tips of angel wings, Scattering gold dust and kisses in our paths.” – Unknown
