Licensed teen drivers can take “Teen Driver Challenge” to improve their skills, St. Lucie County Sheriff Mascara announces
St. Lucie County licensed teen drivers can improve their defensive driving skills by taking the “Teen Driver Challenge” on Jan. 28 and 30, 2016, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
“The Sheriffs of Florida developed the Teen Driver Challenge Program because the number one killer of American teens is car crashes,” Sheriff Mascara said.
The course will take place Thursday, Jan. 28, with a classroom session 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, located at 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, and a hands-on driving session Saturday, January 30, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the police academy driving course on Kirby Loop Road.
Classes are free, but space is limited. Details and registration forms are on the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office website at:

If the registration is faxed, the teen driver must bring the original copy of the registration to the first class.
