A tiny kitten is spending the first few weeks of its nine lives resting, after being rescued from a pipe.

Martin County Sheriff’s Deputy Marisol Molina could hear muffled cries coming from a drainage pipe full of water along Jackson and 150th Street in Indiantown.

Further investigation revealed the kitten stuck in the pipe. The kitten was taken to a local veterinarian to be checked for injuries.

Monday night, St Lucie County Firefighter Jeremy French saved a kitten from a house fire on Avenue L in Fort Pierce. The fire started in a bedroom. All occupants got out of the home.
