Jensen Under The Stars - Jensen Beach

  • 225 Northeast Jensen Beach Boulevard, Jensen Beach

Jensen Under The Stars takes place at Savannas Preserve State Park in Jensen Beach. The evening event offers telescope viewing of planets and stars with guidance from astronomy society members.

Telescope viewing focuses on Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and various stars, weather permitting. Visitors can use their cellphones to take pictures through the telescopes. The astronomical society members provide equipment and expertise for celestial observation.

The event takes place after dark near the marsh. Visitors should bring chairs to sit and observe the night sky. The marsh sounds provide natural ambiance during the star party.

Park admission is required for entry. The fee is $3 per vehicle or $2 for bicyclists and pedestrians. Visitors take a blue envelope from the honor box, insert exact change, and drop it in the box before hanging the blue hanger from their windshield. Pass holders write their pass number on the envelope before depositing it.

Designated parking is located to the right of the entrance. Restrooms are available near the pavilion. Bug spray is recommended due to proximity to the marsh.

Red lights are preferred for navigating in the dark to preserve night vision for astronomy viewing. Flashlights should be used sparingly and directed toward the ground. The lighting considerations help maintain optimal viewing conditions for all attendees.
