TASK FORCE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO DRUG DISTRIBUTION ARRESTS

A cooperative investigation between the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the US Drug Enforcement Administration culminated yesterday with the arrest of two Brevard County brothers for the Sale and Possession of Controlled Substances. Agents arrested 25-year-old Brian David Kendig after a search warrant was served at his residence at 385 Nora Avenue, Merritt Island. He was charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription, Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a School or Business, Possession of Oxydone, and Use of a two-way Communications Device to Facilitate a Felony. Brian Kendig was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he is being held under a No Bond status. Agents additionally arrested 21-year-old James Crothers Kendig III also of Merritt Island, who was arrested and charged with the Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Synthetic Narcotic and Use of a two-way Communications Device to Facilitate a Felony. He was transported to the Brevard County Jail with a $21,000 bond.

The arrests culminate an investigation into the illegal distribution of controlled substances by the brothers. The investigation is continuing.
