It’s Christmas Eve in the Douglas home in Brooklyn, New York. With his wife stuck in Vermont during a snowstorm, Tom and his daughter Beth welcome their quirky relatives for their annual Christmas Eve dinner. After robbing a neighborhood liquor store, high strung and irritable Tony, and his dim-witted sidekick Vinny, find themselves in need of a place to briefly hide out. Using a ruse to gain entrance into the Douglas home, they suddenly find themselves in charge of an ever-growing group of family members and neighbors that they are forced to hold hostage. As the number of zany hostages continues to grow, the question quickly becomes, “who is holding whom hostage?” This is a holiday gem that will keep you in stitches for days!
“In-laws, Outlaws and Other People That Should Be Shot” is directed by Dawn Achin, who has directed a number of plays for Treasure Coast Theatre, including On Golden Pond, Love, Sex and the IRS, The Undeniable Sound of Right Now, and this season’s Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. This play holds a special place in Dawn’s heart, as she directed it to sold-out audiences at the Pineapple Playhouse in 2014. Serving as assistant director is Jill Kober who appeared as Trisha in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress.
