HIT & RUN INVOLVING FORT PIERCE CITY TRANSIT BUS

Fort Pierce, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -On January 7, 2022 at 11:10a.m. Fort Pierce Police Officers responded to a hit and run at the intersection of ML King JR Blvd and Avenue D. A white 4-door Mercedes, traveling Southbound on ML King JR Blvd, struck a city transit bus that was traveling westbound on Avenue D. After striking the bus, the driver of Mercedes lost control and knocked over a city utility box, causing the lights at this intersection to lose power. The driver fled from the scene. One passenger, from the bus, was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment. This case is under investigation.
