Good news for Port St. Lucie garbage woes
Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- There is some good news regarding Port St. Lucie garbage woes.
Here is what’s happening:
Starting today, residents will see bulky and yard waste piles disappear more quickly throughout the City as trucks and workers from a second contractor begin to haul away these piles.
The City Manager hired and directed Optimum Services, Inc., a supplemental contractor, to collect the accruing yard and bulky waste in Port St. Lucie neighborhoods. The contractor will work in tandem with Waste Pro to sweep the entire City, beginning in the north and working their way south. They also will be on standby for any additional disposal needs.
“I’d like to thank all residents for your patience and understanding as we work through these next several months to get new solid waste providers on board to serve the City,” said Mayor Shannon Martin. “The City Council and I also appreciate those who are using our voluntary drop off location. Working together is how we move Port St. Lucie forward in a positive direction.”
