Five people rescued by Coast Guard

Ft Pierce Coast Guard rescued 5 people from a capsized boat 9 nautical miles offshore of the St. Lucie Power Plant. The survivors were wearing their life jackets and were able to climb onto the hull of the capsized boat.

Everyone was in good condition.

Flotilla 58 will observe its 75th anniversary in April  2017. Throughout their history they have  served the  United States Coast Guard and the surrounding community of Fort  Pierce.

Flotilla 58 provides various types of mission services to USCG Station Fort Pierce.   They provide boating safety courses, Vessel Safety Examinations in addition to various other boating oriented classes.
