On August 26, 2016, Port St. Lucie Police arrested Thomas Lee Munson ( SE Royal Green Circle, Port St. Lucie) for DUI involving death without rendering aid and leaving the scene of a traffic crash with a death without rendering aid after Munson collided with a motorcycle then left the scene of the crash.
On August 26, 2016 at 8:09 pm, police went to SE Village Green Drive and SE Walton Road to investigate a crash involving a black 2011 ASPT motorcycle and a blue Chevrolet van.

Preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle, operated by 25 year old Andrew Taylor of Pompano Beach, was traveling east on SE Walton Road. At the same time the Chevy van, driven by Munson, was headed west on SE Walton Road. The collision occurred when the van attempted to turn south on SE Village Green Drive subsequently crashing into the motorcycle. After the crash Munson left the scene without rendering aid to Taylor.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Police searched the area for the hit and run van. The van and its driver, Munson, was located a short time later in the parking lot of Midport Apartments.
Traffic homicide investigator arrested Munson and took him to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.
