Family members and supporters of Corey Jones will depart today for Washington, D.C.
It will be the same day that marks one month since Jones was shot and killed by Palm Beach Gardens Police Officer Nouman Raja while waiting for a tow truck along the southbound off ramp shoulder at I95 and PGA Boulevard.
Family members will be joined by local community leaders.
The group is scheduled to meet with a number of members of Florida’s Congressional delegation and hope to push lawmakers to develop legislation that would include the required use of body cameras for all law enforcement officers and prohibit plainclothes officers from conducting traffic stops.
