Fallout continues from human trafficking and prostitution bust

Treasure Coast, Fl- The fallout continues from the discovery of a human trafficking and prostitution ring among several day spas and massage parlors from Pompano Beach up to Orlando. The investigations have resulted in authorities seizing a property in Stuart, two properties in Hobe Sound, six vehicles, and over $500,000 in cash.

One of the Johns accused of soliciting prostitution has resigned from his equity firm. Billionaire John Childs has stepped down from the company he founded, J.W. Childs Associates. The company distanced themselves from Childs in a statement earlier this week. They stated that he is not currently active in the company’s management.

Meanwhile, a deacon for a Vero Beach church has been arrested. 78-year old Peter McBride was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was a deacon at St. Helen’s Catholic Church. The Diocese of Palm Beach released a statement saying that McBride is a deacon from Canada, and that he had never been incardinated in the Diocese of Palm Beach. His permission to perform public ministry here was rescinded, and his home Diocese in Canada was notified.
