Digital Domain Officially Sold for $13 million.

CBS 12 reports it’s finally here. The expansive Digital Domain complex has officially sold for $13 million.

Christ Fellowship is taking over the multi-million dollar mortgage, but the city remains $27 million short on its investment.

The failed movie studio complex sat empty since Digital Domain movie studios failed in 2012.

Five years ago Digital Domain promised to make Port St.Lucie the next Hollywood on the East Coast.

The bankruptcy left city taxpayers with a $4 million a year mortgage and nearly 400 people without jobs.

The city is not off the hook for the remainder of the $27 million.

City residents face a potential property tax hike of 17 percent to cover failed city economic investments.
