There is discontent over Waste Management’s entry into trash pickup for unincorporated Indian River County.
Waste Management’s contract began October 1st, replacing Republic.
Reports say 95 percent of residents have received new trash bins and the demand for service is up forty percent.
Problem is; trash is not getting picked up in some areas and that has customers fuming. One woman hasn’t seen a trash truck since Waste Management took over.
The county has put Waste Management on notice, but has yet to decide if legal action will be taken against the company for any violations of their contract.
