Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)-  Port St. Lucie Police Detectives have obtained warrants for Wilner Joseph.

On October 20, 2020 a resident reported that a homeowner’s insurance payment check was placed in the mail and it had fraudulently been deposited.  The check was for $2804.00.  He learned of this after his homeowner’s insurance sent him a letter that his policy was in jeopardy of being canceled.  A subpoena showed the victim’s check was deposited into a Wells Fargo Account through an ATM in Fort Pierce on October 20, 2020.  The account was linked to Wilner Joseph.

Detectives noticed that there were two additional checks that were not made out to Joseph, but were deposited in his account.  One check was for $78.42 made payable to a health care services company.  The unsuspecting victims thought their check had been lost and informed Detectives that they did in fact place a check in their mailbox for that amount. This check was deposited on October 6, 2020 via an ATM in Fort Pierce.  The account was linked to Wilner Joseph.

Detectives found another check for $390.22 that was made payable to Amazon that was deposited to Joseph’s account on January 14, 2021.  The unsuspected victims placed their check in the mailbox as well.

There were several large withdrawals by a card linked to Joseph in the amounts of $600, $700, and $700 on 10/20, 10/21, and 10/22.

Detectives did speak with Joseph and he stated there were “weird large deposits” in his account.  Joseph could not explain how the checks were deposited into his account.  Joseph offered to pay the money back but declined responsibility for depositing the checks.  When offered a chance to meet with Detectives, he hung up the phone.

Detectives learned that Joseph was employed at Clean and Green Services, LLC.  They are an independent delivery service partner for Amazon, who delivers packages to Port St Lucie and Fort Pierce.  All the victims stated that they all had Amazon packages delivered on the days the checks were placed inside the mailboxes.  Joseph’s employment did confirm he was working on the days the packages were delivered.

Joseph’s warrants are:
