COUNCIL ON AGING OF MARTIN COUNTY TO HOST DINNER/DANCE FUNDRAISER ON JANUARY 15

The Council on Aging of Martin County will be serving up a good time – as well as a delicious dinner – at its adult day program dinner/dance fundraiser set for Friday, January 15 at 5:00 p.m. at the Kane Center in Stuart.  Tickets, which are just $12, are available at the Kane Center, by phone at 772-223-7800, or online at www.kanecenter.org, and must be purchased by January 12.

The evening will feature a dinner of rosemary roast chicken created in the Kane’s own kitchen by Chef Christopher Collier.   Also on the menu are garlic smashed potatoes, sautéed green beans and cheesecake for dessert.  A cash bar will be available.  Following dinner, vocalist Frankie Pesile will perform a wide variety of tunes, from rock n’ roll through Broadway favorites – and everyone’s invited to sing along or dance to the music.  A 50/50 drawing will finish off the fun evening.

The event is sponsored by Aycock Funeral Home/Dignity Memorial, Family Private Care and LifeCare Therapy Services.  All proceeds benefit the adult day program at the Kane Center.

The mission of the Council on Aging of Martin County is to help seniors live young at any age by remaining independent, healthy and living in their own homes.  The not-for-profit Council provides programs in support of this mission, including Meals on Wheels, Kane Cuisine, an adult day program, senior-focused primary medical care at the Kane Clinic, care management and caregiver support.  The Council, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014, is the longest standing organization in the county dedicated to serving our senior population.

The Kane Center, the home of the Council on Aging of Martin County, is a multi-generational facility offering a wide range of services for seniors, their families and caregivers, and the greater Treasure Coast community.  The Kane Center is designed to serve all seniors in Martin County, from the active to the frail, through social, wellness, medical, nutritional, educational and cultural programming.  Intergenerational events for the general public are also offered.  The on-site Frances Langford Theatre and Auditorium, the Town Center and other spaces are available for rent for special events.  The Kane Center is owned and operated by the Council on Aging of Martin County.  For information on Council on Aging services, or to learn how you can support the Council and be a part of the Kane Center, call 772-223-7800 or visit www.kanecenter.org.
