Construction to Impact Blind Creek Beach Parking
SOUTH HUTCHINSON ISLAND – Parking at Blind Creek Beach Access will be limited starting Monday, Sept. 28, as crews work to install a new picnic pavilion and shell trails.
The beach access will be unaffected as the trails will be built on the north side of the parking lot. However, parking will be reduced to provide room for heavy equipment to access the site. Construction is expected to last two to three weeks.
Managed by St. Lucie County’s Mosquito Control and Coastal Management Department, Blind Creek Beach is located at 5460 South Ocean Drive, encompassing 108 acres of wetlands and beachfront dunes.
Funded through a grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the new trails and pavilion are being constructed by Summerlin’s Marine Construction of Fort Pierce.
