The City of Fort Pierce launches new 24/7 Complaint Hotline
This summer, the City Commission adopted an ordinance that established a short-term and vacation rental program in the City of Fort Pierce. The short-term and vacation rental program also called the STR/VR program, requires every unit being rented for less than 6 months to register with the City. It also created a set of standards and regulations that all short-term or vacation rentals must comply with or face possible enforcement action.
To assist with the implementation of the program, the City contracted with Host Compliance/Granicus, which is a top provider of short-term rental monitoring and compliance, servicing communities throughout the State of Florida including the Florida Keys, Martin County, Indian River County, and Jacksonville Beach.
Through Host Compliance/Granicus, a new 24/7 Hotline and online complaint portal are now available. If you need to report an emergency, please dial 911, but for all non-emergency complaints, you can call 772-227-1580 any time of the day or night to report a possible violation of the STR/VR program. You can also register a complaint through the online web portal, which is formatted for easy use on all electronic devices including cell phones.
The web portal allows you to take a photo with your phone that is automatically attached to the complaint or upload photos, videos, and other attachments, including online advertisements for unregistered units.
