A terrifying situation in Indian River County when a car plunged into a neighborhood lake Saturday evening.
Despite the cold weather, 16-year old Jacob Ursin jumped into the water and swam out to the car. Inside were a man and woman, who handed Ursin their 2-year old daughter. Ursin was able to get the girl back to dry land safely, and by that point Sheriff’s Deputies had arrived to get the man and woman out of the car.
Ursin was treated for hypothermia, but was doing fine a few hours later.
The driver was 23-year old Davonte Paschal of Fort Pierce, and was listed in critical condition.
The baby and woman from the car both suffered minor injuries.
