The proposed bridge over the North Fork of the St Lucie River is a step closer this morning.
The Port St. Lucie City Council has awarded the Design/Build contract to the Archer Western and RS&H team for the Crosstown Parkway Extension Project which will include the four thousand foot bridge over the North Fork.
The City anticipates a contract agreement by mid-July.
Final design is expected to be completed in six to eight months with construction anticipated to start in early 2016 and completed in late 2018.
The two mile project extends along the existing West Virginia Drive, crossing over the North Fork and connecting to U.S. 1 at Village Green Drive.
