BREVARD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE and EASTERN FLORIDA STATE COLLEGE HOST CAREER FAIR
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Eastern Florida State College are hosting a Career Fair on July 29, from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. at the Eastern Florida State College Public Safety Training Institute, 3865 North Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is a progressive agency with nearly 1500 valuable employees that serve in a variety of functions, from certified Law Enforcement Deputies patrolling our communities, Correctional Deputies maintaining security in the County Jail and Court Security Deputies protecting our judicial operations, to a multitude of other positions such as Analytical Support, Animal Enforcement, Crime Scene Investigations, Maritime Security, Emergency Dispatch, administrative and various technical positions.
Sheriff’s Office employees also have many opportunities to serve in various specialized units, such as Fugitive Apprehension, K-9, S.W.A.T., Bomb, Agricultural/Marine, Traffic Enforcement/Motors, Training, Aviation, Investigations and Dive.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has immediate openings at locations throughout Brevard County and offers a very competitive benefit package, which includes medical and life insurance, paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave, tuition reimbursement for higher education, and participation in the Florida Retirement System.
Eastern Florida State College offers nearly 100 degree and certificate programs, including career and technical programs.
It also offers four-year degrees in the career fields of business, health care and computer information technologies. Eastern Florida State College has campuses in Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
Sheriff’s Office recruiting representatives will be available to assist with questions regarding current openings and the employment process.
Representatives from Eastern Florida State College will be present to assist with any questions regarding their programs and degrees offered.
This Career Fair is also being supported by the Melbourne, Titusville, Cocoa Beach and Palm Bay Chambers of Commerce.
Certified Positions Require the Following Qualifications:
- 19 years of age
- U.S. Citizen
- High school diploma or state equivalent
- No felony convictions
- Meet physical fitness and medical standards, including hearing and visual acuity
- Background investigation
- Other additional agency hiring standards
There are also Sheriff’s Office employment opportunities for candidates who are already attending Law Enforcement or Corrections Academies.
