PERFUME THIEVES TARGET MARTIN COUNTY DRUG STORES, STEALING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN PERFUMES, BY STASHING BOXES IN THEIR PANTS
This is a community BOLO for all Martin County retail business selling perfumes and colognes.
Martin County Sheriff’s detectives are working to identify a group of suspects who have successfully stolen hundreds of dollars in perfumes and colognes from two area drug stores.
The first theft took place in late December, at a CVS on SW Bridge Road in Hobe Sound. A man and a woman entered the store, then separated. The male then pried open a locked perfume case and began stuffing boxes of perfume in his pants. His accomplice joined him, and filled her purse full of fragrances. The pair got away with more than $900.00 in merchandise.
Thieves returned again this month. This time two males hit the Walgreens in Palm City. One of the suspects distracted the cosmetic clerk, while the other broke into the locked perfume case. The pair got away with more than $350.00 in merchandise. The thieves left in a grey or silver four door car, possibly a Kia or Hyundai. It is possible the thefts are related.
