Treasure Coast, FL – Hibiscus Children’s Center is pleased to announce that Travis R. Walker, Esq., has joined its Governing Board of Directors. Travis is a local attorney and the founder of The Law Offices of Travis R. Walker, P.A., located in Stuart.
The role of the 15-member Governing Board is to oversee the operations and overall management of Hibiscus Children’s Center and its facilities across the Treasure Coast. Hibiscus Children’s Center has two residential facilities that house abused children removed from their homes and provides mental health services along with community outreach programs. As a dedicated children’s advocate, Travis’ commitment and community involvement are a great asset to the Hibiscus Children’s Center’s board.
Travis practices real estate, land use and zoning, landlord/tenant, condominium law, homeowner’s association law, property taxes, business litigation, civil litigation, estate planning and family law. He also provides consulting regarding Governmental Affairs and Public Policy. As an active member of the community, he has served on the Economic Growth Team of Port St. Lucie, the Planning and Zoning Board of Port St. Lucie, the St. Lucie County Boys and Girls Club and the Port St. Lucie Area Council for the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce. He also served as judge for the 19th Judicial Circuit of Florida Teen Court, the City of Port St. Lucie Police Department Youth Court and the St. Lucie County Young Floridian Scholarship. Travis is a Past President of the Port St. Lucie Bar Association. He was a Rotarian with the Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club where he served as Treasurer. He was a board member of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce (and its Governmental Affairs Committee), the St. Lucie County Business Alliance for Prosperity and for the Medical Liaison Committee for the St. Lucie County Bar Association. Travis has been selected twice by Congressman Patrick Murphy to serve on the Service Academy Panel for the 18th Congressional District of Florida.
Travis currently serves as a Board Member of the United Way of St. Lucie County and the St. Lucie County Education Foundation. He is a member of the Major B. Harding Inn of Court and the St. Lucie County Economic Development Council. Travis serves on the Science Committee for the Xarelto Multi District Litigation in the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Travis is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court, Southern District.
Travis and his wife Anissa are the proud parents of Travis, Jr. and Abigail. Hibiscus is appreciative of Travis’ leadership and concern for helping to save children’s lives.
