The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested the husband of a woman found shot to death in a home in Vero Beach located on Seagrape Drive.
Asbury Perkins is accused of shooting 63-year-old Cynthia Betts to death on Tuesday.
The investigation revealed a history of domestic violence, culminating in a vicious murder.
Perkins has a history of beating his wife and spent 5 months in jail for assaulting Betts.
Betts has had Perkins arrested 10 times and every time his wife would have the charges dropped.
Perkins says he shot her for taking money without permission and nagging him too much. Perkins stated he bagged her in plastic so she would not get blood all over his house and planned to dump her body in a nearby lake.
